Scala Mercalli born in 1992 in Fermo. The first line-up begins doing live shows, and trying to record a demo tape with a lot of production difficulties cause local recording studios. Between 1995-1996, Scala Mercalli recorded their first official 5 songs demo-tape, titled “Hellbringer”. The demo was good reviewed, especially in Germany, but a year and an half later, when the band was signing a deal with a record company, “Fabio F.” leaves the band and shortly also his brother “Luciano” and the singer “Germano” followed him. This was an hard blow, but after one year the band was ready again and they recorded “Gargoyle”, their second demo-tape. Scala Mercalli story continue until 2004, when "My Daemons" was released. Thanks to this promo CD the band deal a contract with AB Record and publish "12th level", that met the favor of the critics. At the same time Scala Mercalli exhibits as backing band with Extrema, Rain, Lacuna Coil, Shaaman and Blaze Bayley. In 2009 they sign a contract to publish their second CD, “Border Wild” and SG Records reprint the first album “12th level”.
